Located on the southeast corner of Kleman Plaza, “The Sunday Paper” was commissioned by the Tallahassee Democrat in celebration of 100 years of continuous publishing and dedicated to the people and city of Tallahassee in 2005. The sculpture is the work of Tallahassee native and Florida Artists Hall of Famer, W. Stanley “Sandy” Proctor. Using bronze as his medium, Sandy suggests the importance of literacy in building a strong community and supporting democracy.
