With warmer weather on the way, we are checking out Romero Britto’s “Miami Beach Ball,” on the southeast corner of Kleman Plaza. In 2005, “Miami-Dade County Days,” the non-profit organizers of the annual Miami-themed party and “Paella Fest” hosted at the Capitol during the Florida Legislative session, presented to the City of Tallahassee this jaunty sculpture by the famed Brazilian artist. Britto’s tribute is a pop-art paean to the polychrome glories of summer. In the artist’s own words, “Art is too important not to share.”
