FSU MoFA Opening Reception and Tanzania Exhibition

August 28th was the opening reception of the “Tallahassee International!” This exhibition will run from August 24th through October 4th.

MoFA Hours: Mon-Fri 9:00am-4:00pm, and Sat & Sun 1:00-4:00pm. Admission is FREE and open to the public!

The Tallahassee International is an annual, juried competition sponsored by the Florida State University Museum of Fine Arts and juried by faculty from the College of Fine Arts. The competition is open to artists worldwide, eighteen years of age or older, and artists may submit up to two works of art, in the medium of their choice, for consideration.

Also on the 28th was the opening of the Tanzania ExhibitionLife Around Rock Art, which was curated by Frances J. Griffith and will run from August through October 11th.

Participants in Life Around Rock Art were children, adults and older women from the Kondoa villages of Mnenia, Pahi, and Imbafi. They participated in a series of art-making workshops, using the art media of their choice to express their opinions about rock art tourism and narratives from their daily lives and communities.
