The Museum of Fine Arts will host a talk with Bill Gilbert and Erika Osborne on February 20, 2017 from 1pm-2:30pm in Fine Arts Building (FAB) 249.
Bill Gilbert, founder of the Land Arts of the American West Program, and Erika Osborne, founder of the Place: Appalachia Program and Art + Environment Program, will speak about establishing truly cross-disciplinary studio arts programs that take students out of the classroom and traveling to sites of artistic, social and historic importance.
Their respective programs have students learning besides scientists, archaeologists, traditional craftsmen and historians, all the while making their artwork. The are collaborating on a book about this subject.
