Scherezade Garcia “Bordering the Imaginary”

The Department of Art and the Museum of Fine Arts are excited to host a visit by the artist on January 31, 2019. Join us for her lecture at 7pm in Fine Arts 249.

Scherezade Garcia is an interdisciplinary visual artist born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and based in New York. In her work she explores the history of colonization and issues of migration in public memory. She is a faculty member at the Parsons School of Design, and her work can be seen in the collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, El Museo del Barrio in New York, and the Museum of Modern Art in Santo Domingo. A series of her videos are currently on display in the museum.
